Intro carving class is underway. We're carving the draw front from a Philadelphia highboy, which involves work cut into the draw front as well as applied parts.
First step is dishing out the area that will be the shell.

This is done with a v-tool.
This is done with a v-tool.Small scrapers are ground from old saw blades. These will be used to clean up the lobes of the shell and get out any facets left from the gouges. More later-Al
