Furniture Plans
These plans, although not necessarily representing a specific piece of existing period furniture,
are exact in all details for a typical example of the cabinetmaker or cabinetmaking style
represented. Details have not been scaled from photographs, but are from my more than 30 years
experience dealing with original 18th century furniture. In no instance have details of construction
or design patterns been "adapted" or modified. Any details that are optional modern methods, such as
the fastening of table tops, will be noted on the plans as such. Optional variations found on period
pieces of similar style will be given where possible.

Castings for the aid of carvers - full size
In the process of copying original pieces over the years I have taken thousands of measurements
and photographs in order to get the most faithful reproduction of the carvings possible. These
castings have been made from my carvings and are a great help to those who would like to have a
three dimensional example to work from. Castings provide details that photographs alone cannot
and enable the carving student to check his or her tools directly against the model to make sure
they are correct. Sequential castings show the various steps that lead to the finished product.
All models include a tool list and are cast in a tough plastic that will survive harder use than
plaster. Stock sizes are rough lumber thickness needed. Prices include shipping continental U.S.
